Awards and Recognition

Chiangmai & Chiangrai Magazine has never sought after awards or participated in phony "web awards" schemes that are so readily available. All of our awards and honors were created by the awarders themselves. In one case (the San Francisco Chronicle article) we learned about the article from a friend in the United States.

In an article focused on the KMT Chinese living in northern Thailand, Time Magazine described the Welcome to Chiangmai & Chiangrai online magazine as: "An excellent introduction to the numerous attractions of Chiangrai Province, this easy-to-use and comprehensive site offers information on everything from yoga classes to cooking schools, handicrafts to nightlife. It also has handy tips on how not get ripped while shopping for silks and gems." Full Story

Site Seeing Column	by Michael Shapiro
Michael Shapiro, columnist and author (Internet Travel Planner), said that "some of the best travel sites cover just one destination or region," and he then named 23 sites throughout the world. The only site he named in Southeast Asia was the Welcome to Chiangmai & Chiangrai on-line magazine, Full Story (in Adobe Acrobat format).
