ART for NEW LIFE

Cory Croymans-Plaghki

An International Art Exhibition will take place at the Amari Rincome Hotel, from 4 to 18 December and also partly at the Gongdee Gallery during the Nimmanhaemind Fair from 4 to 7 December, to benefit the charitable activities of the New Life Foundation, under the patronage of H.R.H. The Princess Mother.

You are cordially invited to attend the Opening reception at the Amari Rincome Hotel on December 6 at 4 pm Dress code : formal

There will be artworks from 11 painters such as Khun Engorn Hormsuwan from Bangkok who will be joined by 8 of her students, one of whom is Khuning Bupphan's daughter Wanthip Nimmanhaeminda. Two foreign painters have kindly agreed to join us : they are Mr René De Wolf from Belgium and Mr Pierre Wittmann from Switzerland. Both painters use very interesting modern painting techniques.

We are organising this great painting exhibition and sale to raise funds for our charitable acitivities and to meet our ever-increasing expenses.

The New Life Foundation under the patronage of H.R.H. The Princess Mother (better known as Somdej Yah by the Thai people) was established in Chiangmai some 39 years ago by Khunying Bupphan Nimmanhaeminda to take care of people with a physical and mental handicap which are grouped in 3 villages located in Hangdong, Chiangdao and Lee and in 2 Homes for the Elderly in Chiangdao and Lee. The New Life Foundation is now also helping the second and third generation of these villagers and has recently started to provide scholarships to give these kids a better chance in life. In 2002, we were able to distribute the first two scholarships for the next 12 years to needy children of our villagers.

Furthermore, to supplement our dwindling income, we have made 8 multipurpose greeting cards from some of these paintings which we will sell at this event : one set of 8 for 100 Baht.
If you want to buy some, they are available for sale as of now, both in Bangkok and in Chiangmai.

In case you want to see some pictures about this wonderful organisation, please have a look at the following website www.asianhealingartscenter.com, under the heading "About Us",

If you cannot visit our exhibition, your donations will still be very welcome at Account nr 501-280384-2 at Siam Commercial Bank, Tapaeh Branch, no 17, Tapeh Road, Chiangmai 50100, Thailand. SWIFT Code: SICO TH BK If you send us your bank deposit slip together with your full name and address, we will be happy to issue a tax-deductible receipt.

Have a great day,

Cory Croymans-Plaghki
