Children's Education Center

Dear Friends and Supporters:

The Children's Education Center located at Ban Thi in Lamphun Province, Thailand has recently asked us to donate several children's wheelchairs. This Center is charged with the task of providing services to needy disabled children, but yet, their budget is so sparse that they do not even own a wheelchair of their own, much less a wheelchair sized to children. At the moment, non-mobile children visiting the Center must crawl on the floor.

Recently, members of our Wheelchair Clinic staff visited the Ban Thi Center, took measurements of needy disabled children in several families, and reported back that the need is quite desperate. As far as we know, we are still the only northern Thai facility making wheelchairs for children. Our 3 wheel all terrain chairs are pictured on our website and they cost us $160 US to make. They are made from local parts, can be locally repaired, and, when donated, they are accompanied by a wheelchair user manual and a training session.
