| Until 18th December | Art for New Life An International Art Exhibition at the Amari Rincome Hotel benefits the charitable activities of the New Life Foundation, under the patronage of H.R.H. The Princess Mother. On view are artworks from 11 painters such as Khun Engorn Hormsuwan from Bangkok joined by 8 of her students, one of whom is Khunying Bupphan's daughter Wanthip Nimmanhaeminda. Two foreign painters have kindly agreed to join who are Mr. Rene De Wolf from Belgium and Mr. Pierre Wittmann from Switzerland. Both painters use very interesting modern painting techniques. Postcards sets are available for purchase. |

| 3rd - 30th December | Thailand / ASEAN Art Awards 2003 Exhibition In the run up to the ASEAN Art Awards 2004, which will be proudly hosted by Thailand next August, Philip Morris (Thailand) Ltd., the sponsor of the national-level Thailand / ASEAN Art Awards 2003, is funding a mobile exhibition of the artworks of the five winning Thai artists. (The initiation of the Thailand ASEAN Art Awards 2003 was held this past August. A large number of emerging Thai artists participated by entering a total of 249 works in the competition), who will represent Thailand at the ASEAN-level event next year, and of 35 other selected artworks. The first stage of the mobile exhibition is now on view at CMU Art Museum (Art and Culture Exhibition Hall). |

| 11 - 12th December | Tibet's Cultural Performance A Cultural Performance from Tibet, Republic of China will be held at Kad Theater at 19.00 hrs in honor of H.M. King Bhumibol, to promote cultural awareness and tourism in Tibet by the Thai-China friendship organization. 24 acts will be presented. Free admission. |
| 13th December 03 - 14th February 04 | Handicraft Contest Professional and amateur Designers are invited to join in competition of handicraft products for seven Saturdays at Sankam-paeng District Office grounds. The works must be submitted 2 weeks before the final judgement which will be announced from the first till seventh Saturday in the following order : Silk (13 Dec.), Cotton (20 Dec.), Packaging Design (27 Dec.), Silver (3 Jan), Ceramics (10 Jan.), Wood (24 Jan.), Sa Paper (31 Jan.) |
| 17th - 21st December | 16th Doi Kham Royal Project Fair The Royal Project Foundation holds the 16th Doi Kham Royal Project Fair between 10.00-20.00 Hrs. at the CMU Art Museum on Nimmanhemin Road. The objectives of the fair are to celebrate the 72nd birthday of H.M. The Queen and, simultaneously, creating public awareness of the excellent products marketed under the Doi Kham brand tinned fruits, vegetables and handicrafts, cooking demonstrations and presentations featuring the art of food decoration. Shoppers can buy fresh cut flowers, newly introduced herbal beauty products, fruit and vegetables fresh from the farms as supplies are brought in daily. |

| 27th December | Wooden Kart at Doi Pui "Noj Peb Caus", Hilltribe New Year Celebration among the Mohng during the nights leading up to the full moon. A unique northern Thailand event which is held at Baan Mohng Village, Doi Pui (5 kms. further from Wat Prathart Doi Suthep). The most excitement during the games revolves around the wooden cart race. Race cars fashioned from wooden crates can be a great source of fun and excitement, no? Mohng boys and men will race against members of Lisor, Egor and Muser hilltribes. |
