Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden & Orchid Show
April 30 until May 5, 2008. In honor of the 75th birthday of H.M. Queen Sirikit, The Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment organizes Orchid Show Until May 5, 2008 at the Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden, Mae Rim, Chiang Mai. Orchid growers from all over the country as far away as Satun and Prachinburi have brought their finest orchid plants to be judged for the best of the best.
Three categories of orchids are Thai native, Thai hybrid and orchids from around the world will be on display. Also a sales area supported by 50 expert orchid businesses will be on hand to advise amateur orchid lovers how to care for orchids.
The competition will field more than 100 species from over all the country. Entrance fee is Baht 40 for adult and free for children

Empress Convention Centre (ECC)
Fully operational as of January 2008, the Empress Convention Centre (ECC) is a low-rise complex located on Changklan Road centrally located in Chiangmai downtown.
The ideal venue for productive and rewarding engagements offering complete versatility, ECC is capable of handling full-scale conventions, exhibitions, trade fairs as well as wedding receptions and other functions.
Nearly 1,000 square meters of pillarless hall space and another 700 square meters of meeting area are both flexible and adaptable when sound proof partitions are required. Meeting capacities at ECC range from small-sized meeting for 10 persons to full-fledged conventions handling 1,000 persons.
