Lanna Explorer - a new herbal spa treatment

YOU MAY BE LIVING in Chiangmai among the lush greenery and yet still search for your own personal oasis. It's easy to find refuge in either the Chiangmai Oasis Spa or the Lanna Oasis Spa, two spas in the city with gardens complete with splashing water ponds. At the entrance gate, the urban frenzy of city life is left behind. Inside the welcoming lobby, the fragrant aroma of lemon grass transports one to a world of tranquility. The feeling of calmness, and relaxation aids in a rise above the tension of the past days. Through the glass doors, the rooms of warm teak decorated with charming Lanna motifs lightens the spirit. From the opening of the Chiangmai Oasis spa in mid 2003, the management's credo has been to give the finest personal service and facilities to guests.

The Chiangmai Oasis Spa and Lanna Oasis Spa have again combined true Lanna herbs in the latest treatment named, Lanna Explorer. North Thailand ingredients such as Plai, an anti inflammatory; lemon grass, an anti fungal; lime skin contains AHA, Vitamin A for skin and skin cells. More natural ingredients to balance the body are magroot leaf, sweet almond oil, sesame oil, and yogurt. Chiangmai Locals have used these ingredients for hundreds of years as a skin conditioner.

Treatment starts in your own private suite with steam bath for ten minutes, cool off with cool shower outside and back into steam room for ten minutes. This pattern helps to detoxify the skin with Thai herbs. Then, it's time to enjoy a shower under a large overhead sprinkler.

The gentle attentive therapist looks after a guest for the entire 3-1/2 hours of pampering in a personal private villa. The private villa has a full window view to a scented garden of greenery and orchid blooms. Under the covering of a wide, thick bath towel, relax while the therapist applies a scrub paste of Plai, lemon grass, and lime peel. After a shower to remove the scrub, the therapist gently rubbed Oasis Refreshing Massage Oil, a nourishing combination of lemon grass, lavender, sweet almond and jojoba oil on the skin. The Lanna Explorer Package has four steps: Steam room, Scrub, Thai massage combined with Thai Herbal Hot Compress for 90 minutes, and facial massage. The massage technique using palms feels great on both the body and the soles of the feet. The therapist has mastered the technique of gently applying hot compress to warm the body. The aroma of the combination of herbs soothes the senses as well.

Next, the Thai massage and with the application of herbal hot compress was seamlessly rotated for 90 minutes. An important factor in this step is to keep energy level high and cleansed the body.

Thai herbal facial for cleansing. The freshly prepared herbal scrub contains black rice, tanaka, massage with honey and milk. The next step to cool down the skin requires with cucumber mask, then, moisturizer.

The complete package is 3 1/2 hours. Soon to be introduced are two facial treatments with 15 steps of treatment for detoxifying the skin. The product is from Australia producers of very fine emollients from Australian herbs for treating normal and sensitive skin. Each treatment is 60 minutes.

Every customer is an individual While clients read the spa menu of treatments, a warm cup of herbal beverage is brought to each. It's difficult to choose a treatment from the enticing suggestions. The accompanying oils and scrubs are based on herbal recipes that have been handed down from generations before. The Oasis Spa menu offers scrubs, wraps, various massage methods for the body, face and feet as well as slimming massage, jacuzzi and steam bath. For those who want several treatments, a package can be designed especially for their particular needs also.
