Oktoberfest in Chiangmai

The 2009 Oktoberfest in Chiang Mai will be an event few persons have ever had the pleasure to participate in Chiang mai. Residents are welcome to join the Thai German Friendship Association at the beautiful festival meadow on the Ping River of the Rati Lanna Riverside Resort and Spa for a great time at the first (and sure to be) annual Oktoberfest!

The event is held in aid of two worthy social networks. The first is the HIV prevention project of Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsavali and the second beneficiary is the Northern School for the Blind in Chiang Mai.

The festival will be featuring authentic Bavarian music, pretzels, dancing, food and beer stations, as well as competitions and activities for both kids and adults.

German Beer is the absolutely German drink. According to a representative survey, beer is a German’s favorite drink. 79% of German adults drink beer regularly. 67% of German women and 91% of German men drink beer at least once a month. On hand will be German beer that is crisp, well-balanced and easy to drink. Be sure to satisfy your thirst to the fullest on this Oktoberfest day.

The Thai TV personality superstar and special guest Dr. Yingsak Yonglertiesdawong will be on stage. Dr. Yingsak has invited food lovers to discover the exotic tastes of Thailand for over 21 years. As a pioneer in the culinary world, his cooking schools have become increasingly more popular as Thailand has been realized to be the “Kitchen of the World”.

At this Oktoberfest, all will  enjoy drinking beer even more with real genuine pretzels and the pretzel master is an important person in this special Oktoberfest. He will be on hand baking up hundreds of pretzels for all to meet the huge demand.

Throughout the Saturday entertainment will include clown and magic shows, Limbo dance Contest, Funny photo Corner and more. Not only will Bavarian and German dance performances be presented but the exciting fire dance as well. Make an effort to wear German or Bavarian costume and you will be likely to win a prize in the best dressed competition.

How about riding on the Beer Boat that will take you on a 20 minute cruise on the majestic Ping River. Adult passengers can drink all they can on this cruise for only Baht 250. Children accompanied by their parents can ride along at only Baht 20 per passenger. It promises to be a great Saturday of fun!!
