The Prince Khum Phaya Resort and Spa

The Opening Party of the Prince Khum Phaya Resort and Spa  certainly  set the pace for the glamour and graciousness guests will  find there  on a daily basis. The Prince Khum Phaya Resort and Spa is  the first  property located in Thailand for the Prince Hotels & Resorts, Japan. Other worldwide properties in the group include Japan, Hawaii, Malaysia and Taiwan outside of Japan.

The  vision of this most spectacular complex has become reality for  Dr. Wachara Tantranont, the President of V Group Affiliated  Companies  The city’s business persons at the opening party were feted with food and beverages while enjoying the music performed by the 30 student members of the Wachirawit School Marching Band. Chiang Mai’s  pride in this  talented youth group is very evident. The opening was presided by Mr. Amonrapun Nimanandh the Governor of Chiang Mai and Mr. Chung Hae-moon, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Kingdom of Thailand. Mr. Yukihiro Watanabe, the  Chief  Executive Officer of the Prince Hotels & Resorts, Japan, spoke eloquently of the pride and admiration he felt for the  facilities.

After the celebratory remarks, the partygoers saw a colorful dazzling firework display. At the same time of the firework bursting, the crowd saw the release of hundreds of lighted Kome Loy lanterns set off rising to the sky. The twinkling lanterns lingered  overhead like the milky way leading to the heavens.

The swelling crowd of guests in attendance was actually a living  “who’s who” compendium of Thailand from TV stars to  supermodels to the esteemed diplomatic corps. All who came to sample  the elegance of  the Prince Khum Phaya Resort and Spa were treated to the high standard of service just what the attentive service of Prince Hotels  is all about.

The multi million Baht Prince Khum Phaya Resort and Spa celebrated its realization as Chiang Mai’s newest destination spa in a prime position on the edge of the city’s suburbs. And it’s only ten minutes to the large  international airport or a short drive to the fantastic outdoor adventures in nature that Chiang Mai has to offer.

Later all  the guests were invited to tour the facilities of the 40  deluxe suites and 40 superior rooms finely decorated in the hallmarks of warm wood and delightful textiles of the Lanna style. Very worth  noting is the Phaya Villa Pool Suite containing three bedrooms with private massage and spa features while four elegant vilas have self contained massage and spa facilities. The Honeymoon villa has an outdoor private garden with heart shaped jacuzzi comfortably accommodating the newlywed pair.

For at least two hours after the party, guests were taking their time  in the resort’s  luxurious surroundings such as listening to light pop melodies in the Kham Saen Restaurant. The contemporary Lanna restaurant offers fusion oriental and international cuisine, including northern Thai  dishes. Both indoor and outdoor seating are  popular for the views of  greenery, waterfall and pools of water.

Guests enjoyed a complimentary 15 minute shoulder massage in the  separate 2-storey Punndara Spa. The conference room located on the second floor above the Kham Saen Restaurant, the conference room.
