Indulge Yourself at
Chiangmai Oasis Spa
A fabulous day spa recently opened on Sirimangklajarn Road. From the
moment clients pass through the gates of the
Chiangmai Oasis Spa, they leave the urban frenzy of city
life and are transported into a world of tranquility and greenery. The
elegant sandstone wall fountain of lotus flowers, down which water serenely
cascades immediately sets the scene of calm and gets you in the mood for
relaxation and indulgence. The name Oasis is highly appropriate as one
steps on the blocks through a pool of water at the entrance of the vintage
teak house. As part of the caring hospitality each guest coming to the
spa is offered herbal beverage tea. I enjoyed a wonderful fragrant cup
of tea with cinnamon and honey especially blended for the spa.
Two knowledgeable young men have combined their business and marketing
expertise to operate the Oasis Spa. Khun Pakin has many years of experience
with a major pharmaceutical company. Khun Toby has traveled to over 70
countries in the world working in the international tourism field and
he has been based in Thailand for the past four years. They both developed
this unique day spa to meet their personal ideas of service and professionalism.
Their keen business acumen has already brought clientele from as far as
Hong Kong to enjoy the 4-hand massage package.
I recently met two visitors from Hong Kong who had completed the 4-hand
massage package in the Oasis Spa. They enjoyed their treatment until the
very last minute before boarding a taxi to the airport to catch their
flight back to Hong Kong. Their effusive compliments describing the treatment
were very heartfelt.
The Oasis Spa menu offers treatments incorporating scrubs, wraps, various
massage of body, facial and feet as well as slimming massage, jacuzzi
and steam bath. For those who want several treatments, a package can be
designed especially for their particular needs also.
I enjoyed scrub, wrap, jacuzzi, massage and facial. My therapist, Miss
Orn, was very attentive, gentle and professional who looked after me for
the entire 4 hours of pampering in my own private villa with a full window
view to a scented garden of greenery and orchid blooms. With the blue
sky overhead, I enjoyed a shower under the largest shower sprinkler I
have ever seen. I relaxed to enjoy a scrub of a combination of coffee,
honey and yogurt. After another shower, I was covered in mineral mud developed
to cleanse, exfoliate, and balance the skin. While I was wrapped like
a sandwich, I had a yummy nap.
Back into the shower before lemon grass oil was applied in preparation
for a vigorous slimming massage for one hour. As I sat in the jacuzzi,
(I remember that was about 4.30 pm) I was feeling very smug knowing that
most people outside the walls of this quiet spa were starting to make
their way back home from work travelling through backed up traffic and
hot temperatures. But, here I sat in a warm milky jacuzzi bath gazing
at the slant of the afternoon sun on my quiet garden corner while I sipped
tea from a exquisitely decorated gold Benjarong china tea cup.
I was coming to the final treatment of the afternoon, the facial cleansing
of honey and cucumber. Cotton pads soaked in cool cucumber juice were
placed on my closed eyes and all over my face. In addition to my skin
feeling nourished and refreshed, I wish I could give more description
of this heavenly facial but I was intoxicated by a deep level of peace
and well-being. I succumbed to another nap. When I awoke the sun had set,
the garden corner was lit with warm lights and flickering candles. It
was already time for me to come back to reality. I plan to treat
myself again soon to an Oasis afternoon.
