TAFI Announces Convention in Chiang Mai, Thailand

The Travel Agents Federation Of India have announced their annual convention at Chiang Mai,Thailand from the 22nd to the 25th of October 2009.

This will be followed by a three night fam tour from the 25th to the 28th of October 2009 to 10 destinations, in and around Thailand . This is being given final shape to include Bangkok, Pattaya, Hua Hin, Phuket, Chiang Rai, Cambodia , Vietnam and the Phllippines. This offer is open to all delegates and spouses as well. The package price is identical to that was offered to delegates two years ago at the Kota Kinabalu convention. All delegates will travel from various points ex- India to Bangkok, and take onward connection to Chiang Mai on the same carrier i.e Thai Airways International.

The convention hotel venue is the Shangri-la Chiang Mai.. The number of delegates is expected to range between 850 and a thousand delegates. The last convention held was at Kota Kinabalu in August 2007 when 850 delegates attended. Major sponsors for the convention are the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the official carrier is Thai Airways International.

The convention theme, the business sessions and speakers are in the process of being finalized.

Previous TAFI Conventions held overseas have been in Mauritius, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore , and Kota Kinabalu. Each of these destinations has seen a steep increase in Indian tourist arrivals as a result of the conventions.
