“The New Life Foundation for Education Development for Children Raised money for the Education Fund!”
In November 2008, the board members of The New Life Foundation raised money and increased awareness of the plight for the children who are living with their grandparents and seniors as a result of their parents dying of HIV/Aids. The event was a huge success thanks to a great turnout from the western and Thai friends who attended. Also making the evening a success were the generous sponsors from the business community that donated gifts and certificates for the silent auction, raffle prizes or items for the lucky draw.
Under Twinkling Starlix skies on a beautiful winter evening in the garden on the banks of the Mae Piing River, the service and food served by Rati Lanna Hotel Spa and Resort on Changklan Road was fantastic. The drinks were flowing, the energy was high, and the people were happy. Mr. Tevor Dobson of Wine Ways selected the fine wines for the evening’s cash bar.
The Silent Auction offered a wide variety of treasures such as five gemstones from Ploymaneewat Jewelry, Mae Kachaan; a beautiful Men’s or Women’s tailored business suit from Fashion King; fabulous accommodation packages from Katiliya Mountain Resort & Spa, Mae Chan, Chiang Rai; Handmade necklaces from Siam Royal Orchid and from Nok em Ded; Natiriyas Galleria donated an Oriental Carpet. Mrs. Lori Ashton donated one night accommodation from the Phuket Burasan and vouchers for raffle prizes; Spa Na Tandee Boutique Spa & Salon, and Oasis Spa sponsored treatment packages; and from the Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai was a certificate for Sunday Brunch at the Cooking School
“This was our best fundraiser to date” said Margaret Bhadungzong, Chairman of the Winter Dreams Charity Party. “We are so grateful to all who helped to promote awareness and attendance to this event. It was a tremendous effort with less than eight persons on the organizing committee. We thank everyone who stepped up to support our worthy cause.” Special thanks go out to Mrs. Somboon Suprasert who is the guiding light for Grandma Cares project dedicated since 1991 to funding education and providing health care awareness to thousands of seniors taking care of their orphaned grandchildren. The majority of the daily legwork and record keeping was organized by Mrs. Hope Watcharaprecha, Mrs. Aye, Mrs. Nuansri and Mrs. Aurapin Marispong.
“The funds raised tonight will help the children to continue their education plus help their family members with health problems,” said Mrs. Pattanoot, the treasurer of the with New Life Foundation for 30 years.
The enjoyable spicy music for the dancers was provided by Mr. Aye and his Family Band. Even though not all moved to the same steps, many got up to sway to the rhythmic Latin beat.
Once again the media increased awareness to better humanity " all in the name of having a great time with good friends and making the world a better place. Enjoy the photos of the happy affair. We already had enquiry when we will organize the next event Details coming soon…. in 2009
